Bowie to Conduct Live Training Burns

Flashover Training Announcement

Attention Members: 

Over the next several months, the Bowie VFD will sponsor two flashover training exercises to be conducted at the Prince Georges Country Fire & EMS Department Training Academy.  The dates for the two sessions are Sunday, April 13, 2008 and Saturday, May 10, 2008.  Please see a station officer to register for one of the two sessions.  If you plan on participating, please arrive at your respective station by 0630 so we can leave by 0700.  The class is approximately 4 hours in length (0800 to 1200).  Please bring your turn out gear (boots, pants, coat, nomex, gloves, face piece and regulator).  SCBA's, and helmets will be provided.  Each station is to decide which piece of apparatus they are taking. No more than 10 students per session.

In conjunction with the Baltimore-Washington International Airport Fire Department, the Bowie VFD has been asked to participate in E-PLEX training.  E-PLEX training will focus on multi causality incident management. Scenarios concerning multi causality incident command, patient care, hospital coordination, transportation coordination, and a host of other activities.  This training event is also scheduled for May 10, 2008.  Time is TBD.  More information will be provided as its made available.
